A Flexible, Collaborative Home for Design Innovation

ECBuild and EwingCole needed a modern workplace that could support their expanding Southeast practices and serve as a physical representation of their design and construction expertise. The team transformed the 12,375-square-foot shell space at 4509 Creedmoor Road into a flexible, daylight-filled studio that fosters collaboration, creativity, and connection to the surrounding landscape.

The office accommodates up to 50 team members with six conference rooms of varying sizes, a materials library, and a dedicated pin-up studio for design reviews. Natural light and carefully selected materials create a welcoming yet highly functional work environment. Ergonomic workstations, indirect lighting, and high-performance acoustic ceilings support focus while encouraging collaboration.

Visitors enter through a lobby that highlights the firm’s local presence with a custom wallcovering map of Raleigh and displays of completed and ongoing projects. The materials library provides interior designers with a space for hands-on exploration, offering ideal conditions to support informed design decisions. Flexible meeting spaces, ranging from intimate rooms to areas accommodating groups of 20 or more, enable the team to adapt as project needs evolve.
